DJI has confirmed the addition of three brand new products. These are all going to be announced within the next month on three separate occasions – Oct 20, Oct 27, and Nov 5. Could these be the products that what we have all been waiting for? This teaser image hints towards each particular product that will be announced. With many rumours and leaks online, it might just be easy enough to connect the dots. Here’s what we think…

Announcement #1: DJI Zenmuse X7 Ground-Based Camera?

There have been a few leaked images and a teaser photo from DJI that all suggest that we may be seeing a DJI Zenmuse X7 Ground-Based Camera. The DJI Zenmuse X7, along with its prime lenses, was released all the way back in 2017 so it is definitely due for a refresh (or even something new in that space). If we look closely at these images, the gimbal port is different from the existing X4S/X5S/X7 gimbal ports so it could suggest that we will see a new gimbal/camera. The feature that sticks out the most (literally) is the extension arm to the gimbal port. This looks like it could be a Z-Axis arm (DJI did something similar with the original DJI Osmo) and looks to be a very exciting development!

Announcement #2: DJI Osmo Action 2?

The DJI Osmo Action is also due for an update, especially with Insta360 posing strong competition. Similar to the Insta360 One R series, these images suggests that we could be seeing a modular DJI Osmo Action 2. There’s not much else to say here as these are all just diagrams rather than actual photos or renders, but we are keen to see what DJI will do in response to Insta360’s innovations.

Announcement #3: DJI Mavic 3?

A good handful of renders have been leaked recently of a new drone from DJI, and it could well be a Mavic 3. Many people have been waiting a long time for this one! From what we can see, just like the Mavic 2 Pro, it will feature a Hasselblad camera; not one, but two of them! It appears that the lens for the main camera will have an aperture of f/2.8, with an additional 7x zoom lens – DJI may have created a hybrid Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom in this new model. The Mavic 3 is expected to have a larger 6,000mAh battery, 1TB of internal storage and the capability of shooting 5.7K video. Although there are no official teasers yet from DJI, the Mavic 2 Pro is no longer in production so surely we will see the Mavic 3 around the corner, and we are hyped to see it!

The first of the announcements will be next week in the form of a live stream. For us here in New Zealand, it will be at 2:00 PM, October 21, 2021. Further details about the following two announcements are yet to come.
