Laowa 0.7x Focal Reducer for 24mm f/14 Probe Lens

Laowa has launched a new 0.7x Focal Reducer for its 24mm f/14 2X Macro Probe lens. The Laowa 0.7x Focal Reducer for Probe Lens educer reduces the crop factor when using the probe lens on APS-C/ Super35 and Micro Four Thirds cameras. This helps retain the perspective of the probe lens while also increasing the maximum aperture to f/10.

Key Features

1. Permits mounting a full-frame PL or Canon EF mount lens on a S35/ APS-C or Micro Four Thirds camera body
   
2. It is a manual adapter that maintains the image quality, which effectively eliminates the crop factor while making available to the sensor an additional 1 stop of light for each of the lens’s f/stop settings
   
3. 0.7x Focal Reducer/Widens Angle of View by 0.7xmaking the focal length of the probe lens 17mm, i.e., equivalent to around 25mm in Full Frame , using an S35 cinema camera. (M43: equivalent to 33mm in Full Frame)
   
4. It enlarges aperture to f/10

The 0.7x Focal Reducer effectively reduces the crop factor from 1.5x to 1.05x on Super35 and from 2x to 1.4x on Micro Four Thirds sized sensors.

The focal reducer is made out of metal, and Laowa claims that it not only provides stability for adapting lenses, but it also improves durability.
